Even if Jakob’s last release wasn’t widely known, it made some pretty serious ripples, it was Ben Chasny’s Favorite Record. Jakob did gigs with and was loved by Wooden Wand and the Vanishing Voice, Matt Valentine, Charlie Nothing, etc. Woods just asked him to open their December tour and there are some rumblings abt another tour being aligned with the Supreme Dicks in March of 2012. This is available on December 6. Funny release date maybe, but yeah — we think it’s the kind of record that could help people through this winter. It’s called Morning and Sunrise, and we feel the album is important on its own merits. He’ll be slotted into “loner”, “electric folk,” and “psychedelic singer-songwriter,” but he is a singular voice regardless of genre.
